The main goal of the project is to strengthen the internationalisation of the University of Warsaw and to foster multidimensional cooperation in education and research with foreign partners. The project supports the development of knowledge, skills and social competences of students, teaching qualifications and academic careers of research and teaching staff, as well as the international competences and experience of administrative staff.

Under the programme, 105 participants will receive full funding for a 14-day international exchange. The exchanges will primarily aim at enhancing the competences of students, doctoral candidates, academic teachers and administrative staff. The project will host 50 participants from abroad who will conduct their research stays at the University of Warsaw, and 55 participants from UW who will benefit from funding for a short visit to a selected foreign institution. The stay may take place at one of UW’s partner institutions or at one of the world’s top 100 universities according to the QS World University Ranking.

The project team also intends for the short-term exchanges to support the implementation of “innovative mobilities at UW” – including frontier research projects, development of attractive international study programmes, exchange of teaching and administrative practices, joint grant applications, and preparation of joint publications in prestigious journals and publishing houses.

The results of the project will contribute to the medium- and long-term internationalisation of the University of Warsaw through the development of competences among students and staff from Poland and abroad, improvement of the quality of education and increase in the number of mobilities, as well as the transformation of relations with foreign partners into strategic partnerships. The project will strengthen the scientific excellence of UW staff, support the development of innovative teaching methods, reinforce UW’s position as a leading research centre, promote mobility as an element of professional development, and improve international cooperation procedures, including the language skills of staff and the promotion of multilingualism.
