Programme Countries:

Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement:
- Can only be signed by a higher education institution.
- Cannot be signed by a student, doctoral candidate, or staff member.
- Can only be signed with an institution that holds the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE).
- Is prepared and negotiated by the faculty or institute mobility coordinator in cooperation with the Erasmus+ coordinator of the foreign institution that is party to the agreement.
- Is signed digitally (via EWP) in consultation and cooperation between the International Relations Office and faculty mobility coordinators.
- Is signed nearly a year in advance.
- Can only be signed by the rector/appropriate vice-rector or the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator (IRO), based on granted authorization.
- Depending on the agreement between the parties, it may be concluded for a maximum period up to the academic year 2028/2029, following the template provided by the European Commission.
Agreements concluded by the University are the basis for preparing and submitting an annual project to the Foundation for the Development of the Education System under the “Erasmus – Mobility of students and staff in higher education institutions” programme. Within this project, the University applies for grants for:
- Students for long- and short-term study abroad,
- Students for long- and short-term internships abroad,
- Academic teachers for teaching at partner institutions,
- Staff for training purposes,
- Organization of Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) at the University of Warsaw.

Quality Criteria for Student Exchange

- The student’s mobility is organized in accordance with the terms of the inter-institutional agreement and applicable procedures.
- The foreign university offers a “compatible” curriculum.
- Students have the required proficiency in the language of instruction.
- The study programme at the foreign university, once agreed upon and successfully completed, will be fully recognized by the University of Warsaw; completed courses or internships will be included in the final transcript (diploma supplement or equivalent document).
- The unit will not create course groups composed exclusively of foreign students.
